36 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 195. Man I will be glad when I can stop sharing these numbers.

Maternity clothes? YES, and shameless plug, if you want to watch my tv segment on SA Live that covers the topic, you can click here.  Skip to 8:30 to get straight to our segment, and a huge thanks to Neiman Marcus at La Cantera and Destination Maternity for providing the fabulous clothes!  Live TV is so much fun!

Stretch marks? I noticed some weird bruising/stretch marks on my belly this week, but I asked my midwife about it and she felt it’s probably just from scratching and nothing to worry about.  I guess I should probably start applying Bio Oil or something to help with the urges to scratch the belly!

Sleep? I totally jinxed myself by saying Cora was turning a corner last week.  It’s now a matter of if I have the will on any given night to keep putting her back in her bed, or if I give in and let her come sleep with me.  I’ve been trying to get her on a better routine though, so hopefully that will help!

Best moment this week: The TV segment was pretty high up there.  I received lots of feedback that women could relate and found the information helpful! That’s what it’s all about!

Movement? Yes, and the painful jabs to the ribs have started as well.  So fun! 🙂

Food cravings? Mainly sweets, but I’ve been drinking so much stinking water it’s hard to have an appetite for anything.

Gender?  GIRL! :)

Labor Signs? Just a little bit of pelvic discomfort and belly tightening, no full blown contractions though so I know it’s still just pre-game warm ups.

Belly Button in or out? Outie.

Wedding rings on or off? On, although I tried adding a ring to my right hand yesterday and struggled to get it on a bit.  Once it’s on though, it’s not coming off!

What I miss? I would really like a giant vanilla Coke.  The Milky Way back home in Indiana has caffeine-free Coke, but it’s so difficult to find elsewhere!

What I am looking forward to? My San Antonio family is hosting a baby shower for us this weekend, and I’m so excited! It’s not very common with my side to have baby showers after your first born, so it feels extra special to be celebrating this little one.  We don’t really need anything, it will just be great to see everyone before baby arrives!
IMG_1656{Please pardon the iPhone photos today! I forgot my DSLR on the way to a San Antonio Fashion Society event at Carolina Herrera, but sweet Pam of Over 50 Feeling 40 was kind enough to snap some shots for me!}

Weekly Wisdom? Know your limits and be ok with them.  I’ve started to think about my work commitments in terms of how much I want to be juggling after baby is here.  It’s not that I don’t want to keep doing a million things, it’s a matter of what’s a healthy balance.  I think I’m getting stronger to be able to tell people “no”, and not feel guilty about it.

Milestones? 36 weeks and we’re officially into month 9! It’s crazy to think that baby could come tomorrow and be (God willing) perfectly fine.  There is a fully functional, living, breathing, baby in there, and I can’t wait to meet her!
XO,
A
