When Kelly and I first started Haute in Texas, we were both married, child-less, and new to the Texas lifestyle.  Since then, she’s packed up and moved back to her hometown of Atlanta with husband Drew, I gave birth to a child, and our lives became similar to Frost’s “two roads”.  Neither path was better than the other, because I can promise you there were times I was stalking Kelly’s Instagram pics of hand-crafted beers while breastfeeding, wondering what it’s like to live that life.  TMI?  Anyways, the only thing that matters is that Kelly’s moving in a direction that’s different than mine, one isn’t necessarily right or wrong.

But as we came to realize the differences in our writing voices, it became clear that Haute In Texas simply wasn’t working as a partnership anymore.  Kelly and I had a talk yesterday, which I wish could have gone longer, but of course Cora woke up from her nap early.  As if to make a point that she’s the center of my world now. 🙂  Before I rushed off to motherly duties though, we both decided that it was best if the blog has just one voice from here on out.  Kelly is still more than welcome to write here if she wants, of course, but if not we didn’t want you to think she just fell off the face of the earth.

If you came to Haute in Texas for the superb writings from Kelly, I’m sorry you’re stuck with just me now.  I won’t be hurt if you decide my personal ramblings aren’t your style.  I’ll be sure to keep you all updated if Kelly happens to find a new home in the blog-o-sphere, and of course I wish her simply the best in everything she does.  Thanks to our readers for sticking around in this crazy thing we call life.

XO,

A
