When Haute in Texas coordinator Fernanda isn’t making the magic happen behind the scenes here, she’s also on the frontlines of fashion in her retail career. I asked her to contribute a guest post today, and I’m so excited that she’s returned from her recent trip to market with a bevy of ideas and trends to look out for. Today she’s sharing the top four brands she discovered while in Vegas for the seasonal buying extravaganza, and I have no doubt you’ll be seeing them at every boutique near you very soon!

Nearly five months ago, I started working as a manager at MIA Style, a boutique store located in Brownsville, Texas. Being a shopping addict and clothing lover, I thought it would be the perfect job for me. With fall just around the corner, my co-workers and I headed out to Las Vegas for the Magic Fashion Show Convention, where we would hand-pick the boutique’s latest clothing selections. I like to think of the The Magic Fashion Show as a paradise for wholesale distribution, where large retail companies, such as Sears, Neiman Marcus, down to the smallest boutiques, attend with the primary purpose of discovering upcoming collections or rising brands to be sold within their stores. Being a first timer to the show, I did not know what to expect. I was only recommended to wear comfortable shoes, as there was a lot of shopping and walking to be done!

Our primary goal was to find the latest clothing styles, which would be appropriate and fitting for all type of women, at our store location. The show was very well structured; it was divided into several sections, where each area had a distinct and unique style of apparel and accessories. I felt like an 8 year-old kid at Disneyland! It was just unbelievable – I wanted it all. From beetle sandals to pink fluffy jackets, they had it all. After three long days of hard work we were able to find the perfect brands to be sold at our boutique. I had never seen or heard of these brands before but they were just to die for. And now I know where all my paychecks will be going!

At the end of our Las Vegas trip, we had selected a variety of brands that I fell in love, but here are my top four: LUSH, Six Crispy Days, MINKPINK and Line and Dot. Six Crispy.

Our time at the Las Vegas Convention was all about comfort meets elegance. Six Crispy Days has oversize satin button shirts and ripped cropped jeans were available in all colors and sizes. Line and Dot had a boho-chic vibe, with a golden long skirt that had a more edgy LA look – I must say this one was definitely my favorite out of its entire collection. The entire convention was a phenomenon, you could encounter anything, from a beautiful black feather mini skirt paired up with simple white t-shirt and studded leather jacket to a LUSH bulky, knitted, and oversized turtle neck sweaters, which are used for an everyday look! MINKPINK, on the other hand, was the perfect combination of gorgeous and cute. It had the most beautiful floral pattern pajamas I had ever seen – It even had matching robes to go with them.

Overall, all these brands are all different, yet at the same time, they all share a very unique and similar style. A tendency I saw between all the brands was their coordinating outfit collections. Whether it was the matching dusty blue suede short with the same dusty blue suede bomber jacket, or the matching pattern ruffle top with skirt, they had it all double.
This trend was already popular in the spring/summer collections, but was not seen often within the fall collections. Which in my opinion, is a far great benefit due to the flexibility of mixing and matching and match and use the jacket or skirt in a different way, making one cute set into four complete different looks.

Unfortunately, taking pictures of the pieces we got were not allowed; therefore I do not have any pictures to share with you today. However, I was told that their newest and latest clothing pieces would get posted on their online websites soon, so please check them out!
