Local fashion shows tend to be hit or miss. You either end up seeing something that inspires you to believe in the power of local design, or you find yourself wishing you’d spent those two hours of your life doing something else, anything else. The Escapade: Swimwear Fashion Show proved to be a show with daring shapes, interesting materials, and although every swimsuit wasn’t my style, I still wouldn’t mind adding a few of them to my swimsuit drawer. My favorites were the sailor-inspired one-piece and the zebra one-piece you see below. As you’ll see, Bikini Colada takes risks with their swimsuits, and it’s certainly a love ’em or hate ’em kind of collection. But who wants to go to the beach and wear just a so-so tankini? Summer swimwear is all about being sexy, daring, and a little over the top, and Bikini Colada certainly nails that.
