It’s a chilly, overcast springtime day up here in North Texas, but all I can think about is the beachy maxi dress I’ve had my eye on for a few weeks now. The maxi dress is from Old Navy, which, although it not the chicest, is where I go for summer and springtime staples. I like mixing more expensive pieces into my wardrobe through layers and accessories (or excessories, rather) instead of throwing money at expensive clothing items that I know I won’t be wearing for more than a season or two. While this dress screams of beachy summer waves and a big floppy hat (and maybe some of those wedges I posted two weeks ago), I want to start wearing it this spring. While styling the dress today, I was definitely influenced by the grey and taupe tones from outside. Since the dress is so plain, I love the idea of mixing it with expensive, embellished pieces to make the look more luxurious.  Tell me what you think! Do you love or hate maxis? What’s on your spring must-buy list? Let me know!

K
