Last year I purchased a cheapo summer straw fedora that lasted me all of one beach vacation before it quickly became malformed and squished from the sun and salty sea water. This year, I’m looking to upgrade, but only a bit, because I don’t want to take the risk of buying an expensive one and dropping it in the sea or it flying off my head on a cruise ship.
