Are you busy? Are you juggling lots of responsibilities? Kids, work, and life keeping you running around like a mad woman? If we’re being honest, who doesn’t have a ton of plates in the air these days? And while it’s great to have a million thing happening, it doesn’t leave us much time to take care of ourselves. Or more specifically for this post, it doesn’t leave us much time for our beauty routines. Which is why I’m bringing you just ONE thing you need to start doing right this second. It’s a game changer, y’all, and if you haven’t tried it yet I can promise you’ll want to after you see these ridiculous before and after photos. Are you ready? I’ve got two words for you. Eyelash extensions. Behold:
A giant close up of my face. But more importantly, these were my natural lashes. You can barely see them if you squint your eyes just right. When I entered Hair and Makeup Couture I wasn’t sure what to expect with the extensions, but after seeing these photos I knew anything would be better than what I was currently working with. Once I got to know Jenn, the eyelash extension expert at the salon, I laid back on a comfy massage table, closed my eyes, and let her get to work. That was perhaps the only difficult part: you absolutely cannot open your eyes the entire time or you will pay the consequences. Apparently in the form of some mild burning, but I wasn’t about to take a chance and find out. About 15 minutes passed with tiny pokes and shuffling about on the part of Jen, and she told me she was finished with the first side. Here’s what that looked like:
Crazy, right? So another 15 minutes passed, all the while I got to relax and borderline take a nap while Jen whittled away, transforming my every day lashes into L-A-S-H-E-S. All in all, she placed each eyelash one by one, and essentially doubled the amount I had previously. They are silky smooth to the touch, and after just a few minutes I barely noticed they were there. Not like falsies when I feel like I constantly have something in my eye. These felt very natural, as if I had just applied the world’s best mascara and that was it. Ready for the final result?
Is that not insane? I honestly could not believe what a difference it made to have the extensions in. It’s almost unreal how they can look so natural and yet make such a big impact at the same time. A full set typically lasts a couple weeks before you can either get them filled in or let them fall out on their own. In the interest of full disclosure, I lasted almost a week before I started picking at them during an intense Netflix binge late one night. Don’t judge me! I am HORRIBLE with resisting picking at my nails, too, but I hope you have the strength to leave them alone unlike me!
