I recently finished reading The Alchemist, and I highly, highly recommend it for just about every person on the planet. It was just mind-blowing quote after mind-blowing quote, and I felt like I needed to highlight every word. I’ve only been 27 for a few weeks, but I already feel a shift in my attitude towards things. I may not be hot in the pursuit of my Personal Legend like the book talks about yet, but I’m more focused, less concerned with playing childish games. The Alchemist was a great reminder that everyone has a chance to change the world, it’s only a matter of whether we’re willing to go for it.  Are you willing? Or are you still afraid of the unknown?

The Alchemist Book Review

This is an easy look for work that I’ll wear if I don’t have any meetings that day.  It’s casual, but not sloppy.  You know that concept of dressing for the job you want, not the job you have? I guess that’s similar to my philosophy for work.  I wear the clothes that inspire me and make me feel good because, as the Alchemist says, the universe conspires to help those who really want their dreams.

Morning light in downtown San Antonio just makes everything grand, don’t you think? Another quote from the Alchemist: “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.” Mornings are always full of possibilities for me, and I love it.

I seriously love this Stella & Dot tote. Did you know they do bags now? It’s big enough to hold everything mommy, business, and life related, and it motivates me to keep it clean because of the laser cut outs. I just cleaned out Jolly Rancher wraps and an old french fry, so, obviously frequent cleaning is a necessary thing.  I always purchase something if I fall in love with it immediately.  Hence the Alchemist quote “One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving.” rang true with me in terms of significant others and shoes. That’s not a bad thing, right?

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” Final quote from the Alchemist, I promise. We put together our individual purposes for work one time, and this is what I decided on: to push myself and others to be better every day.  I’ve remembered that ever since because I think it actually does fit my personality.  I’m not the type to sit idly by, I dive in, even when it’s terrifying.  Does it sometimes get me in trouble? Yes. Do I often drive Orlando insane? Yes again. But I’m going to keep loving, striving, and becoming better as long as the universe lets me.
