As I write, all huddled in my heated blanket, I am consumed with thoughts of balmy weather, silk dresses and new shoes. This is the best time of winter, as we’re seeing old inventory being sold at great prices while the new and more exciting shoes move in to fill space. Here are some of my favorite shoes for this Spring, and what I’d pair them with. What are some of your favorites? Photos all via Saksfifthavenue.com

These 40’s inspired Gucci Shoes are so sexy. I love the chain t-strap and the metal piping on the heel. These shoes are the perfect accessory to a simple little black dress, or pair it with a tweedy peg ankle-grazing trouser for a more work appropriate look.

These Brian Atwood espadrilles are the perfect accessory to any summer dress. Their metallic straps and striped wedge won’t outshine anything that you’re wearing, instead, it’ll kick whatever you wear it with up a few notches, at least. I say mix stripes with stripes, and give a one, two punch with a nautical striped dress and a raffia fedora at a summer BBQ.

Burberry, I love you for pairing raffia and painted leather so effortlessly. This is their take on a summer loafer. I’d wear these with trouser jeans and a silk top for a night out, or a linen pencil tulip skirt and a tucked in button-up for work. Let the shoes do the talking.

Harem pants, trousers, skirts, and bodycon minidresses– these shoes would go with anything. They’ll toughen up any look while still looking demure, thanks to the elegant pointed pump and the not-too-tall heel.

Do you hear that? Is that the theme form Love Story I’m hearing? Who cares what you wear these with. They are perfect– delicate, and oh so pretty. Thank you Mr. De La Renta.

XO,

K
