The Art Institute of San Antonio

The Slice of Summer Fashion Show presented by The Art Institute of San Antonio was the best of summer, all rolled in to one chic package.  The evening began with a presentation of student’s work in the fashion illustration and design classes, along with the two collections from graduating designers at the Art Institute.  The first collection featured women’s casual work wear, with bursts of neon to give the entire line a fresh and vibrant feel.  The second line was my personal favorite, an active wear collection that felt like Lululemon with an edge. Gone are the days when you could just put on a pair of sweats and cotton shirt to head to the gym, y’all.  This line proved that even the clothes you sweat in can be fab.

The runway portion of the evening was produced by Tony Harris Productions, in addition to the students at AI.  A’GACI provided the looks, and while I wouldn’t consider their aesthetic to be my personal style, I was surprised by the number of ensembles that I found myself “oohing” and “aahing” over.  I do wish the graduating designers would have been given a proper runway show, instead of just a quick finale walk at the conclusion of the night, but I’m sure time was of the essence. For a look at all the runway looks, you can check out the Facebook album here.

Perhaps my favorite part of the evening was perusing the attendees for fashionable attire and snapping photos of my favorites.  Who says San Antonio isn’t fashionable? I think the gallery below proves otherwise.  See if you made the cut if you attended the show as well, and let me know your favorites!

XO,

A

P.S. I was given complimentary passes to the show, but don’t worry, all opinions are my own!
