I was absolutely, completely a book nerd growing up. I read at home, I read at school, I read on the school bus to and from school. I have vivid memories of skipping dinner because I couldn’t put a book down. I suppose if I had been a city kid, there may have been other things to take my mind off the stories those pages held, but it was a captivating place for my mind to wander whenever I felt like it. Needless to say, I want my girls to share my same love for reading as they grow up, so we’ve made it part of our routine to enjoy bedtime stories and make a trip to the library whenever possible. Still, I don’t want them to feel that reading books is just an average task to be checked off our daily to-dos. I want them to be excited about diving into a new book, smelling the pages the way I used to and feeling a sense of comfort.

When Bookroo reached out to tell me about their monthly subscription box I loved that it was entirely focused on READING. They send children individually wrapped books once a month, in either hardcover picture books or board books, whichever you prefer.  They also gear their board books towards a younger crowd, up to about 2 years old, and the hardcover picture books are appropriate for kiddos up to age 6. It’s the perfect time to lay the groundwork for learning when your kids are always excited about getting something in the mail, and if it turns out to be a super fun book – even better!

Cora and Issa share that childhood affinity for shiny packages, so they quickly opened their package to find three individually wrapped books inside. They opened them up to find engaging stories, bright pictures, and interactive components.  That last one is a huge plus for Issa who is still working on her attention span. 😉 I also love that Bookroo has the option of GIFTING boxes. What a fantastic shower gift that would be for a lucky mama!

That was Cora’s genuine reaction to one of the books. Probably pretty close to the same face I used to make when I got books for Christmas. Our three books were of varying difficulties and topics, and I love that we don’t have to rush them back to the library in two weeks. The subscriptions can be made in a range of time frames, but just for Haute in Texas readers if you sign up for any multi-month subscription with the code HAUTE, you’ll get your third month free! The value of each box always exceeds the subscription rate, and I can vouch that these are high quality books your kids will love. Fun, right?!

If that cheesy smile below doesn’t tell you right away, Cora is excited about new books. 🙂 Give Bookroo a try for your family and let me know what you think!

P.S. I received a complimentary Bookroo box and compensation in order to facilitate this review. Don’t worry though, all opinions are my own!
