25 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 174.  I officially took a look at my back side this week and realized that I am, without a doubt, growing another baby back there. 🙂

Maternity clothes? Oh buddy yes.

Stretch marks? I’m scared to look.

Sleep? GLORIOUS. With my mom helping out last week and then Orlando being in town to help with Cora this week, I feel like a million bucks!

Best moment this week: Speaking of Orlando, the knucklehead surprised us this week by showing up at a friend’s going away party completely unannounced! It had been a few months since we’d seem him in person, so of course Cora was ecstatic and I cried.  Unfortunately he was only able to stay for a few days and had to head back for a doctor’s appointment.  We found out he is going to need surgery on his knee again, so the good part is we will be seeing more of him very shortly.  The bad part is it will be while he’s recovering and doing rehab, but we’re just taking it day by day.

Movement? Orlando got to feel his daughter kick for the first time this week since I wasn’t feeling any movement before he left.  We were riding home from a basketball scrimmage and he pretty much kept his hand on my belly the entire way, just feeling baby girl shift and move, sometimes kicking his hand so hard it moved off my belly.  She’s fiesty, this one.

Food cravings? None that I can think of.

Gender?  GIRL! :)

Labor Signs? Nada.

{This is what happens when you wait until 8 pm to take blog photos and you have a crazy toddler avoiding bedtime on your hands.}

Belly Button in or out? Innie! My midwife asked me yesterday if the spot where my belly button ring used to be is sore at all from stretching and I had almost forgotten that I used to have a belly button ring.  So wild and crazy were my younger years… 😉

Wedding rings on or off? On, no issues there!

What I miss? Dropping off Orlando at the airport yesterday was hard.  I had forgotten how lovely it is to be pampered while you’re pregnant.  He brought me food, took care of Cora, and even just something as simple as someone else to drive the car means I can let go of just a little more stress in my day.

What I am looking forward to? This colder weather sticking around! At least I hope it does, I am loving the layering, big sweaters, and boots that this type of climate calls for.  My volleyball games were actually cancelled yesterday due to the “extreme cold” that is 40 degrees in San Antonio.  Brace yourselves, people. It’s going to be a bitter winter in South Texas. 😉

Weekly Wisdom? This week was filled with a whole lot of ups and downs.  Orlando came home, Cora got to see her dad, and lots of good things are happening in our lives.  On the flip side, we also had two cars break down, Orlando’s future is uncertain with another knee surgery looming, and there’s plenty of tragedies going on in the world if you look for them.  The only thing we can do is take the good with the bad and thank God through it all.  He gives and he takes away.  But the point is that He loves us no. matter. what.

Milestones? Orlando got to feel baby girl move for the first time. I don’t think it matters if it’s your second pregnancy or your tenth, that is such a sweet moment. 🙂
XO,
A
