Pregnancy Update

24 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 170.  Eating out and being on the run with no time to work out because of Fashion Week probably has a lot to do with that.

Maternity clothes? Yes, and I’ve actually been able to find enough dresses to wear this week at all the events!

Stretch marks? I can’t seem to find the one I thought I saw last week, so either a miracle has occurred or it was just a foreshadowing of what’s to come.

Sleep? I’ve slept AWESOME this week since my mom’s been in town and slept with Cora in her bed the whole time.  That left me with the freedom to attend Fashion Week events and come home late to a toddler-free king-size bed.  Hallelujah!

Best moment this week: Perhaps not best, but most memorable was falling down the stairs.  If you haven’t heard about that escapade yet, click here.

Movement? I’ve been hyper aware of little lady’s movement all this week due to the aforementioned fall, so each little kick and wiggle is a friendly reminder that she’s all good. 🙂

Food cravings? I caved and ate a McDonald’s double quarter pounder a few days ago and immediately regretted that decision.  Why does it taste so good while you’re eating it and then make you feel so awful afterwards? These pregnancy updates are turning in to more of a confession than anything…

Gender?  GIRL! :)

Labor Signs? Nada.

Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Wedding rings on or off? On, and I was still able to accessorize for Fashion Week to my heart’s content.

What I miss? All the open bars and complimentary cocktails at Fashion Week events have been calling my name, but resisting isn’t too difficult.  It’s more of that “always want what you can’t have” sort of thing.

What I am looking forward to? Not really pregnancy related, but I am so excited for Thanksgiving and of course CHRISTMAS this year.  With it being our first time living in the States during the fall in quite a few years, I cannot wait to decorate, celebrate, and eat all the yumminess.

Weekly Wisdom? When you see a pregnant woman fall, it is ok to be concerned.  It is appreciated, in fact.  But please remember that she is not a china doll and God was wise enough to put lots of water and good stuff surrounding baby to make sure everybody’s normally alright when the inevitable pregnancy clumsiness rears its ugly head.  Let’s all just have a good laugh and move on, shall we?

Milestones? We started putting together the nursery this week and Cora is SO excited.  She now asks me almost daily, “Mama, is the baby gonna come out and sleep in her bed now?” Not for a few months, my love, but it makes my heart melt either way.
XO,
A
