Sarah Burton says she was inspired by Gaia for Spring 2012’s collection, but let’s get real here, you wouldn’t be able to tell. Not that it’s her fault. You see, she makes such incredibly detailed garments, you won’t even be able to pay attention to theme. From the millions of micro-pleats, to the hand-massaged chiffon, the beading and almost mosaic-like craft work on the dresses, it takes every ounce of energy to process it all completely. Not to be vulgar, but she could put out a collection inspired by horse manure and rainbows, and you’d be so busy looking at all of he tiny little pieces of the whole, you in no way would know your poop from your ROY G BIV. Standing ovation, Sarah!
