It’s taken me a long while to shift gears and get into my head that colored denim is cool. I’m a 90’s kid, and just about every pair I put on in my childhood had some matching sweater to go along with it. I recall cleaning my shower while wearing a pair of purple Lee’s when I was in fourth grade, only to soon after learn the magic/tragedy of bleach, as my new jeans had developed hot pink spots in the process. Luckily, my mother, the genius that she is, decided to spray the pants in their entirety, to achieve a splotchy hot pink mess that I, at the time, loved.

Anyway, needless to say, I’m still recuperating from the 90’s but I recently came across something new to change my mind. Enter: the well executed colored denim from J. Brand jeans. In a wide array of shades from the palest pink to a shocking cobalt, this line features three cuts for everyone to find their inner 90’s girl: denim cut-offs, cropped skinny jeans and full length skinny jeans. Here’s my take on their gorgeous orange full length skinny jeans. I kept it breezy on one side with a modern peasant blouse and on the other side with a bit of a rock n’ roll silk-rayon tank. Happy Shopping!
