Sometimes it just takes a bit of restrained glamour and femininity to turn things around for you. That’s how the Spring-Summer Jason Wu collection made me feel. With his focus on throwback sport shorts, peplums, girly leather jackets, and beaded collars, each look brought either a gentile sigh or a full blown “WOW!”. It was lovely, but modern with the slightest bit of edge to it, primarily in the looks paired with the leather. It had just enough sparkle to take it to the next level. Design-wise, his peplums and drop waist gowns were risky, as many women notoriously don’t aim to draw attention to their mid-section. But all in all, it fully celebrated the body (and all bodies, at that) and I think most pieces in the collection will look good on any woman.
