Alexander Wang and his gang of perennial cool girls are back in full force, with a bit of an evolution into modern sportswear influenced by literal sports- like motocross and basketball. The dewey models were draped in sports mesh and perforated leather, like grunge LA Lakers, with fine tailored shorts in dark and twisted takes on hawaiian prints, and color-block, pseudo-tribal knitwear motocross outfits. Tons of zippers, and leather do-rags made for a truck-stop chic look– that’s a total compliment. Wang, who, up until this point, has been working to establish himself as a true designer, took a big step forward into personal growth with his experimentation of cuts and fabrics. At first I really hated the show. After sleeping on it, I really took to it because it made me uncomfortable. And what’s good fashion without a little boundary pushing!
