Amid the neon brights and flourescent leather pants (how is that even possible) of this season, Marchesa was surprisingly toned down and, dare we say, neutral.  Of course with all the intricate beading and embroidery one could ask for, the gowns by no means disappointed.  Rather, it seemed the collection was one of understated elegance, as in, “We don’t have to show off, we’re Marchesa.”  I could have done without the fringe added to just a few pieces, but for the most part every ensemble flowed and shimmied down the runway to greatness.  See for yourself:
