The other day I opened the back door to my porch in the morning to let Frenchie outside and felt the most bizarre sensation – a chill. That’s right, y’all, it is mid-October and we are just now beginning to feel just the slightest hints of fall around here in South Texas. That means it’s absolutely time to bust out the booties, tunics, and even the occasional SWEATER. Hallelujah for layering, isn’t it so much more fun? More clothing options also means more chances to accessorize and play with pieces that feel too heavy for summer.

I scored these booties on sale from Apricot Lane for TEN DOLLARS! Can you believe it?! I highly recommend following them on Instagram if you’re not already here, so you can keep an eye out for their amazing sales! I needed a lighter beige bootie to compliment the chestnut brown and black pairs I already own, so these were perfect! My jeans are my trusty Gap favorites, but if I hadn’t been running around to work meetings in this outfit I probably would have gone for a lighter, distressed jean instead. And since one of those appointments was a stop at Elaine Turner, I thought it only appropriate to break out my favorite handbag from her line! I love that this particular shade of snakeskin tied together my booties, top, and overall look.

Now, we must discuss this JEWELRY of course! My statement necklace is from an adorable online shop called The Happiness Boutique. This is their “Glamorous Over The Top Statement Necklace”, but it retails for just $30! Find something on their site that you absolutely have to have? Use the code “hauteintexas” for 10% off! Offer is valid until November 3rd.

So even though gold is such a popular color right now I still like to go with gunmetal or silver on occasion, but mix in other metals throughout the rest of my outfit to keep it contemporary. That’s were this cuff from Sycamore and Amaranth came in. It’s designed locally by a lovely gal named Whitney Kammer, and you can follow her on Instagram here. Her brand is very much a combination of feminine and the girl who doesn’t take crap from anyone, which I can totally relate to!

There you have it, an easy breezy look that transitions well from appointments, to client meetings, to running to pick up the girls from school. I like mixing metals during this season of transition with the weather feeling brisk in the mornings and still 90 degrees by noon. Something about the climate keeping me guessing makes me want to do the same with my style, I suppose. What’s the weather like where you’re at?

XO,

A

P.S. I received complimentary product in exchange for this post. Don’t worry though, all opinions are my own!
