Thanks to Bag Snob, when I sat down to watch the Bottega Veneta show, I was looking forward to focusing mainly on the handbags sure to be featured in the upcoming months on their site.  But what I discovered was a full line of edgy luxury, and splashes of urban streetwear thrown in.  Perhaps most surprising was the youthful color present in Bottega Veneta’s normally conservative aesthetic.

As for the handbags, the patent leather weaving and ostrich pieces were stunning, and the intricate use of handiwork was absolutely potent.  That black to gray tote is going to be a must-have on everyone’s list for Spring, I’m calling it right now.

Overall, Bottega Veneta felt fresh, breezy, and less stuffy than in past seasons.  The feminine qualities in the dresses and pleating were to die for, and the collection felt perfectly balanced between sophisticated and springtime.  See for yourself:
