When we found out Issa was a girl, I was THRILLED because 1) girls are sugar, spice, and all things nice and 2) Issa would be able to wear hand-me-down clothing from Cora. Yay saving money, right? What I didn’t consider was even though there were born just a few months apart in the calendar year, it would mean their wardrobes wouldn’t align quite correctly. Issa will fit into Cora’s winter gear when we’re in the middle of a Texas summer, or that adorable bathing suit of Cora’s will fit her just as they’re closing our neighborhood pool for the year. It’s something I never anticipated, but it’s meant that, while we’ve been able to reuse a good amount of Cora’s clothes, we still need to stock Issa’s wardrobe each season. And of course, Cora’s growing like a weed and needs new clothes every other month it seems.

Here’s where Loteda comes in for us.  They’re an online children’s consignment company, very similar to ThredUP that I’ve raved about before here. However, instead of picking out individual items of clothing and trying to sort through outfit pairings later, Loteda sends you LOTS. As in, perfectly paired kid’s clothes that you can mix, match, and wear the bajeezus out of all season long.  It’s perfect for moms, like me, who are infamous for buying that one random leopard print skirt that’s ADORABLE, only to arrive back home and discover it matches with literally nothing else in your daughter’s wardrobe. That will never be the case with Loteda, and each lot includes tops, shorts, skirts, and a romper or dress so the options are varied and stylish.

Cora and Issa, per usual, were so excited to find a package for them at the door, and Cora could not stop gasping with excitement as she pulled one precious piece of apparel after another from the box. The kind mompreneurs at Loteda were even so kind as to coordinate the girls’ outfits so we could have “sister” options. Not quite exact replicas, but within the same color scheme that it made for a perfect day of dress up and photo shoots.  The brands are names you know and love: Gymboree, Carter’s, baby GAP, The Children’s Place, and Hanna Andersson, among others.

We REALLY need Issa to grow some hair soon because she is getting mistaken for a boy every other minute these days. I can’t resist outfits like these though, with a sweet little denim button up and crisp white shorts. Who cares if she looks like a little gentleman? She’s an ADORABLE gentleman. 😉 Cora also fell in love with this blue and white patterned romper, and I love that it won’t show stains very easily. She couldn’t get over the fact that it looked like a dress but, “Mama, this thingy has SHORTS, too!”

I’m also looking forward to SELLING some of our gently used clothes and even accessories and blankets to Loteda. While it’s still to be determined if we’ll have another baby, I can tell your our storage room is groaning with all of the baby gear that keeps getting piled in there. It just makes sense to cash them in for clothes the girls can actually wear and love now instead. And just like ThredUP, Loteda will mail you a bag to stuff your items into so you can simply pack them up, ship them off, and watch the money roll in. Easy peasy, my friends. And y’all know that is my motto.
