As usual, Burberry London’s Fall 2012 line wowed and stunned this week in all its tweedy goodness. A far cry from the overwhelming head to toe jewel-tone looks witnessed last year throughout fashion month, we are seeing a trend toward spring’s continuation of a pop of color through the use of those jewel tones as bags, belts and trimming. Burberry’s show was hyper-textural– mixing stripes, white cotton, tweeds, leathers, in the way that Burberry does best. Much like Marc Jacobs’s show, there was a slight trend towards a Gaslight Victoriana theme, with peplum-cum-bustles  and tightly belted waists that released into exaggerated hips, as we’ve seen on many other runways. One thing is for sure, if you aren’t wearing a belt around your coats next fall, you might as well not be breathing. Just kidding. We aren’t that shallow. Oh, and one more thing– Velvet. That’s all.
