I’ve always been a bit of a make-up fiend. I was using pink lip gloss and clear mascara in the fourth grade, and by age 12 I was an avid collector of my mother’s discarded Clinique and Estee Lauder samples. In the last two years, I’ve replaced my drugstore purchases with higher-quality finds, such as Nars, Smashbox, Dior and Tarte. However, despite the improved quality of my beauty products, I can’t say I’ve mastered the art of using them. I was definitely stuck in a beauty rut until I discovered the miracle of the Youtube tutorial. Currently, the tutorial world is ruled by Michelle Phan, who creates great HQ videos, but my heart belongs to someone else, the sassy and down-to-earth Bethany from iwanted2c1’s Youtube channel. Bethany’s videos are not super polished, but they are thorough, creative and full of ridiculously on point recreations of celebrity and runway make-up looks. She also has a few easy-to-follow hair styling tutorials as well, in addition to a great video that shows you how to make your own, high-quality $20 hair extensions. She mixes drugstore finds as well as luxury beauty products, so her looks are affordable for everyone. She also takes suggestions, so if you see something you like, ask her to recreate it!

Thank you Bethany for your videos, keep ‘um coming.

Here are some of my favorites from her repertoire.
