learn photography

If you remember last year, while we were living in Cancun I had the extremely good fortune of meeting Christina of Christina Dianne Photography. We did several shoots together, and I’ll be honest that one of the biggest things that made me sad about not returning to Cancun was not being able to work with her anymore! I still hope that she and I can collaborate together in some way, shape or form, but the good news is she’s offering photography classes online now! So while I may not be able to shoot with her right now, I am so excited to be able to learn from her and hopefully improve my own skills to even a tenth of hers!

Photography for me is one of those things that I know I need to improve on, but I lack the drive to actually take the time. I need someone to help me from a very specific standpoint, since I really only need to take pictures of my kids and my outfits for the blog. These are unique situations that require very intentional camera settings, knowledge of lenses, etc. and I find it so overwhelming at times! I’m not a professional photographer, nor do I ever see myself becoming one, so the classes I’ve tried in the past haven’t worked for me because they spend time discussing how to shoot weddings, how to shoot newborns, and that’s just a waste of my time.

Christina took ALL of that into consideration and realized there really was a niche available for women like me: bloggers, moms, or mom bloggers that want to improve their photography but don’t know where to start. She’s set up this class to be EXTREMELY easy to understand, and I can tell you from experience her personality is just wonderful for teaching. She’s patient, kind, funny, and she doesn’t take herself too seriously. At times photographers can make their world seem like an exclusive club you can’t get into, but not Christina. She’ll make you feel like it’s totally possibly for you to be the next Annie Leibovitz. And while that’s probably not true, it still feels nice. 😉

So are you interested? Shoot Christina an email at christinadiannephotography@yahoo.com or find her on Facebook here and Instagram here. This is a very personalized approach to classes, so she’ll work with you one-on-one to determine what level is right for you, and how to accomplish your individual goals. And it’s entirely online, so it doesn’t matter where you live! I can’t wait to start my own lessons, and I’m sure you all will appreciate the improvement in quality here on the blog! If you want to join me give Christina the code “AQUILA” for $10 off your class!

P.S. I am receiving a discount on my own classes in exchange for this post. Don’t worry though, all opinions are my own!
