You are a gorgeous woman who deserves to be pampered in luxury and style.
Last year, after moving several times, I grew tired of lugging the same tired clothing from house to house, only to find that I wasn’t keen on wearing the same evening gown more than once, or the same necklace, or blouse. “Wow, can’t I be consistent and boring in anything?” I chided myself.
So I started reinventing my wardrobe; paring down dramatically.
And then I went shopping, and filled that closet right back up with outfits that I would again, only wear once.
This was not a good pattern!
I reached out to several personal shoppers and image consultants. I was willing to spend a little money on getting a wardrobe that fit the new 30+ me. They must have all been buried in shoes, because they didn’t get back to me! But I was really determined, and really obsessing about my clothing now. I started meditating on what I was really looking for. What were my clothing problems?
Clothing Problems:
-Wearing things once
-I hate doing laundry
-I hate dealing with dry cleaning even more
-No time to go shopping during the work week
-Daughter gets super bored when I take her shopping on the weekends (and it’s miserable)
-Getting in a rut (I’m a web designer and I work from home. It’s important that I have things in my life that challenge my artistic eye! I wanted my wardrobe to support me in evolving my design tastes and abilities!)
One day in my Facebook Feed I saw an ad for a clothing subscription service. What?! And it functions like Netflix?! No way! In minutes I was signed up with my first tote on the way to my doorstep.
Months later, I am absolutely in love with Le Tote. As I write this blog I am wearing their Tiara Knit Top and Grease Leggings. Cozy and comfy–the perfect way to blog from home and still look my best when I pick up my daughter from school!
My husband offered to buy the Mayra Wrap Dress that I also just received because it is HOTT on me! Sounds like an excuse to go on a date! It is so fun to be able to try things on, wear it for a few days, and then send it back for more!
Ok, so what does this have to do with motherhood? Umm, only EVERYTHING. If you’re a mother, you know how hard it is to remember to treat yourself, right? We put our kids and husband and clients first, and often forget that we need to sleep and eat and laugh, too! Le Tote, with each shipment, tells me, “You are valued. You are important. You are worthy. And you look gorgeous, too!”
When I receive my tote, I quietly slip off to my bedroom to try things on. I take this time for myself. And no one questions! On a practical level, there are no more boring trips to the mall for my daughter (or me)! And the dry cleaning is now handled by my loyal postal worker! I just hand off the pre-paid postal bag, filled with lovely garments, and they handle the rest.
Now that’s made for a mom!!
I encourage all moms to take a moment to subscribe to something (anything!) that will remind you on a busy day when everything is going wrong, that you are a gorgeous woman who deserves to be pampered in luxury and style–because you are!
