When it comes to fashion, my lexicon is as over-simplified as Rachel Zoe’s. I get reduced to “Oh my God” and sighs so easily. So, please bear with me as I try to better articulate the things that made me “Oooh” and “Ahh” all week long.

1. Proenza Schouler

If they were a cult, I’d be drinking the Kool-aid. Let me tell you how major this show was. It. was. major. I’m going to have to talk in fragmented phrases. I can’t speak. Tribal prints in every outfit. Beautifully handcrafted jewelery. Brocade peplum dresses, Velvet harem pants. Rich jeweltones. Macreme skirts. It was beautiful, creative, fresh, luxurious, cool and wearable. All of those in one show is really hard to find. These are my fave looks.

2. Marchesa

I don’t know why it made me cry, but it just did. Marchesa always has beautiful work, but this season they seemed to take their efforts straight into the realm of fantasy. It spoke to the little girl that lives inside me that still believes in faeries and that coco-puffs are healthy. It was regal and damn near perfect. I gasped– my poor husband thought I’d hurt myself. No, darling, “it’s just Marchesa.”

3. Marc by Marc Jacobs

My personal style is modern bohemian and that’s simply everything that this show was. Some remember the seventies as a bit cheap and over-the-top, but this show really took the punch out of the insult. It was luxe and glamorous and perfectly styled.  To me, it was one of the most wearable collections of the week. I want to buy the menswear for my husband. I want to buy the women’s wear for myself. I want the shoes, I want the bags. It’s even got me thinking about a silk jumpsuit.
