How did busy moms and career women shop before online boutiques?  Seriously, when I think about the effort it takes to actually go to a store, try things on, and tote the little ones with me, I immediately feel a strong desire to take a nap.  Shopping via the beautiful world wide web on the other hand? I stumbled upon this little number on a new boutique’s site called J. June.  Owner Jennifer Griffin kindly offered to send it my way, and it’s been the perfect solution when I need to dress up for a meeting, but I need a lightweight piece for this Texas heat that’s still hanging around.  I know it will transition perfectly though when the temperatures inevitably drop, and the suede material is certainly on trend for fall.

Also, how fun is this Aztec print?  Typically the tribal trend makes me feel a little too hipster, but the delicate sequin detailing really elevated this dress to chic, not shabby.  I paired it with my go-to Jeffrey Campbell leather sandals from last season that I’m still not done obsessing over.  These are so flipping comfortable I didn’t even break a sweat toting Issa along with me to my meeting.  Although I must admit I always feel a little pretentious when I’m all dressed up and balancing a little one on my hip.  As if people are probably passing me on the street wondering if my live-in nanny from Guatemala called in sick that day. Nope, sorry folks, just juggling motherhood and a career over here, don’t mind me.

Orlando picked out these Tiffany & Co. sunglasses for me for my birthday, and I love how perfectly they went with this look.  He has great taste, doesn’t he? I have to admit, it is the bomb to have a significant other who can shop for you and snag something that you would have totally picked yourself. They’re currently sold out on the website, but you can sign up to be notified when they’re available again!

Ok, be honest, is the hat totally obnoxious?  I can never tell with hats.  I think because I hardly ever wore them until recently, so I feel a bit ridiculous every time I try one out.  My mom actually got me this one for my birthday, so I’m glad the floppy hat trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere for fall.  I do have to confess though that it’s not necessarily baby-friendly.  As soon as Issa sees that I have it perfectly positioned where I want it on my head, she does a terrific grab and lunge to yank it right off.  Ah, the joys of motherhood.

Seriously can’t get over this shift dress and how easy it is to style.  I could even foresee pairing it with some gray leggings in the winter and black booties.  If you want to shop the dress for yourself be sure to check it out on J. June by clicking here.
