Nine months

Dear Issa,

Tomorrow you will be nine months old.  You’ve been back and forth from San Antonio to Cancun two times over the past month, and were a trooper like always.  You learned how to say “Mama”, “Dada”, wave goodbye, clap, and give high fives since the last time I wrote as well.  It’s been so much fun watching you learn to interact with the world around you.  Especially with your big sister who is beginning to play with you more and more.

You’ve become much more interested in food lately, so we give you something off our plates almost every time we sit down to eat.  You like puffs, vegetables, fruit pouches, teething biscuits, rice, oranges, bananas, really anything you can get your hands on.  Speaking of getting your hands on things, you are constantly getting into messes around the house now, and you have a knack for finding the most dangerous area of the house to play in.  It certainly keeps me on my toes!

Your first Thanksgiving was a success.  We were in Cancun with Daddy to celebrate, and you seemed to be a little perplexed by pumpkin pie.  Everything else, though, you loved, and you’ve been loving the warm ocean waters of the beach here as well.  All of your swimsuits, and regular clothes for that matter, are almost entirely 12 months or higher.  You’re still a BIG girl!  Those two bottom teeth are still the only ones to make an appearance though, and those top two have been giving you some trouble for awhile!  Hopefully by the next time I write they will have popped through and you can have some relief.

It’s crazy to think you’re only three months away from turning a year old.  It just doesn’t seem possible that you and your sister are growing up right before our eyes.  I love you so, so much, and I’m so excited to celebrate Christmas with you in just a few days!  If you could stop playing with the Christmas tree ornaments until then though, I would appreciate it.  All the happiness in the world to you, mi vida, thank you for letting me be your mama!

XO,

Mama
