Dear Issa,

Today you are four months old! You are now a pro at rolling over, holding your head up (most of the time), and you’re even managing to scoot around on your tummy in circles when you’re feeling extra energetic.  I think you’re teething just a little bit, but we haven’t seen any toofers popping through just yet.  I can’t believe four months of your life has already flown by! It’s just amazing to me!

You’ve recently decided you no longer like laying on your back, very similar to how your big sister was at this age, so we’ve started propping you up in the exersaucer, the Bumbo, and you of course love to be held so you can see everyone and everything.  There isn’t a single day that goes by that you’re not in a good mood, happy to see everyone no matter what.  Just yesterday you went around town to client meetings with me and were happy as a clam.  Everyone is always amazed that I’m able to bring you with me to business functions and you are so well-behaved you barely make a peep.

You do have an ornery streak to you though.  Just the other day I was in the other room while you and Cora were in my room laying on the bed.  All of a sudden I hear her yell out, “MOOOOOOOOM, Issa’s pulling my hair!” You like to do this a lot, but she typically doesn’t make a big deal out of it.  When I walked in to the room to diffuse the situation, I found you rolled up next to your big sister just smiling a big gummy smile as if to say, “I know I’m pulling her hair and I don’t even feel bad about it!” You may have a wicked sense of humor, we’ll have to wait and see.

You still have those big, blue eyes that mesmerize everyone.  And you’ve just recently gotten a little tuft of hair on top that is long enough for a bow, so we’re having a little more fun with dress up here lately.  We head to the pediatrician’s office tomorrow for your four month check up, but if I had to guess I’d say you’re probably weighing in around 15-18 pounds already.  I won’t be surprised if they tell us you’re off the charts for height and weight, because you’re certainly much bigger than your little sister was at this point.

You’re our big, happy, blue-eyed girl and we love you so much!

XO,

A
