Dear Issa,

Today you are ELEVEN months old! I am trying to wrap my mind around the fact that in just 30 days you will be one year old.  For eleven months you have been making everyone around you smile and laugh.  There’s not a single person who has met you and hasn’t loved you instantly.  It’s also been a big month for you, as you got TWO new teeth and started WALKING.  Slowly but surely you’re starting to trust yourself more taking steps instead of resorting to the default crawling.  Cora was so excited for you to start walking too, perhaps even more so than you were.

You’re developing an adorable sense of humor, too.  You like playing peek-a-boo, hide and go seek, and you get in these moods where all you want to do is roll around the bed like a baby gorilla. It’s quite possibly the most heartwarming thing ever.  You’re saying a few more words now, including my favorite, “WOW!” We can now add that to the list of mama, dada, and bye bye.

You’re still huge for your age, and we’ve had to move up to clothes in sizes 18-24 months for the most part.  It’s incredible how fast you’re growing, and I can’t help but squeeze your chubby little legs and deliciously plump toes every chance I get.  Your eyes are still bluer than blue, and your hair is finally getting just a little bit longer and BLONDE.  Maybe, just maybe, it will make everyone think your mama is a natural blonde too. 😉

You spend most of your days either nursing, taking a couple naps, or following your sister around everywhere.  You always find the tiniest pieces of her toys on the floor and promptly put them in your mouth.  You love yogurt more than any other food, but you’re almost always willing to try everything.   You’ve also learned how to fake “cough” lately, which has given me more than one unwarranted heart attack.  Thanks a lot for those gray hairs, by the way.

Now that you’re walking I imagine the next month will be an interesting one to say the least.  And it’s time to start planning that birthday celebration! I love you baby girl, as always it’s my great honor to be your mama.  Thank you for your never-ending love and slobbery yet sweet kisses.

XO,

Mama
