I’ve never been into lipstick. I’m bored by basic roses and mauves, but have yet to develop the confidence to wear something brighter. Plus, I’ve always been so baby-faced, lipstick has looked a tad silly until the last few years, in which my face is (finally) starting to catch up to my actual age. I’ve envied some of my favorite bloggers who often sport a bold lip, like CupcakesandCashmere.com’s Emily Schuman who always has a beautiful coral at her disposal, and Jay Miranda of JayMiranda.com (formerly Fatshionable.com) who can really werk a bright pink or berry.
So I’m taking charge, and I bought my first tube of lipstick. Okay, well I bought several. And the shades are really great. So let me share with you my favorite shades from Revlon’s New Colorburst line. I came across this line on Vogue.com, and I figured if Vogue was endorsing a drugstore product, it must be good, and imagine my surprise when I found them 50% at Walgreens last Friday. SWEET!
I picked four shades, ranging from a lovely nude to an electric raspberry.
Top Left: Soft Nude
Top Right: Fuchsia
Bottom Left: Baby Pink
Bottom Right: Candy Pink
The colors go on a little sheer, which is great because I like that I can build the color and ease my way into it. I’m wearing the electric candy pink and I love it with my usual routine of winged eyeliner and barely-there blush.
