Fashion trends are simultaneously exhilarating and exhausting.  One the one hand, if you happen to be sporting a look that is then dubbed a “trend”, you have the uncanny sense of pride that perhaps you’re doing something right.  On the other hand, if a trend finds its way from the runways to the streets and you have absolutely nothing in your closet to resemble the new style, there is the horrendous dilemma of purchasing something you may not actually love, or defiantly suffering through a season without jumping on a trend bandwagon.

If a particular trend doesn’t particularly suit my personal aesthetic (read: Birkenstocks, palazzo pants, and overalls), I tend to dismiss it as a passing fancy and refuse to give it undeserving credit until its stuck around for a few years.  Thank goodness my friends at Neiman Marcus seem to have hit the nail on the head this fall with their fashion trends report.  I attended their media preview a few weeks ago and have to say I couldn’t stop staring at the delectable knits, shimmery grays, and year-round booties.  Take a gander at the looks below:

I’m not sure what occasion I would wear a fur collar to, but I can’t say that I care.  I love the timeless black and white aesthetic, the pops of gray, and those sunnies. Oh, those sunnies.  Thank goodness we can still incorporate eyewear in to our winter looks in South Texas.  It would be a sad, sad world without them.

So my Google+ Auto upload just went and created a GIF for these next looks, but I kinda love it.  It gives you an idea of the similar silhouettes, expert layering, and a little man candy snuck in there for you too. 😉

Blues and greens were definitely the dominant colors to appear on the makeshift runway at Neiman’s.  I love the subtle sex appeal to this look with the sheer neckline.  The store also provides a service of tracking all the couture dresses they’ve reserved for customers at each event of the season, so you can be sure you won’t arrive with another guest wearing your designer duds.  Because how dreadful would that be?

I really, really wish Orlando would have been able to attend this preview with me.  The menswear had just as much pizzazz and polish as the ladies, and I know he would have been drooling (very masculinely though) over the shoes.  It’s tough to see with this particular Prada pair, but they featured metallic studs on the tips to add some rock to this regal affair.  Also, as a side note this model’s name was apparently Christian, and he was dressed for the majority of the evening in gray.  Coincidence? Perhaps not, but I am a married lady. Just thought I would leave that there for you single ladies. 🙂

So there you have it: grays, greens, layers, global flair, mixed metals, and seasonless booties are the looks to look out for this fall, according to Neiman Marcus.  Which ones are you looking forward to trying out most? For me, I can’t wait to wear layers again without dying of heat exhaustion.

XO,

A

P.S. I attended this fall preview as a guest of Neiman Marcus, but don’t worry, all opinions are my own.
