If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a blurry picture yesterday of David Yurman sitting on a stage.  You may have thought, “Who’s David Yurman?” like my husband.  Or, you may have supposed, “That’s not really David Yurman.”  In both cases, I wouldn’t judge you.  However, for a little fashion blogger like myself to be in the presence of such greatness yesterday, courtesy of Neiman Marcus, was a HUGE deal and I was pleasantly surprised to discover just how down to earth the aforementioned Yurman and company were.

Want to know the best part about these beautiful people? They also appeared to be entirely lovely people inside as well, judging from the jovial conversation during the panel portion of the event.  Avril Graham asked David Yurman and Jim Gold questions ranging from, “What’s it like to work with Kate Moss?” to “How is the Texas market different from the New York or LA market?  According to David Yurman, Kate Moss is a true professional, loves her craft, and has never disappointed with her collaborations for the jewelry line from day one.  According to Jim Gold, the Texas market varies little these days from the NYC or LA scene, especially with conveniences of travel and technology connecting us all.  I have to say I agree wholeheartedly Mr. Gold, thank you for giving my fellow Texan women some stylish credit!IMG_8531

On to the show and tell portion of the day! The models displayed the varying styles within the David Yurman brand, but most in the audience were excited to see the Venetian Quatrefoil featured by this gorgeous young woman, exclusively available at Neiman Marcus.

The classic cable Renaissance bracelet that is synonymous with David Yurman.  How does this man continue to reinvent this timeless piece year after year?  According to him, he enjoys collaborating with his son and wife to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, and to hear him speak of his family with a twinkle in his eye was such a delight.IMG_8542  IMG_8547Harper’s BAZAAR Fashion & Beauty Editor Avril Graham was equally wonderful, and had the most endearing British accent you ever did hear.  You can’t quite see it in this shot, but throughout the event she was wearing a STUNNING David Yurman venetian quatrefoil cuff that shimmered and glimmered incessantly.  I literally couldn’t take my eyes off it while she was speaking during the panel.  IMG_8551Now for the fun part! All the pieces discussed during the runway event were available for shopping and trying on afterwards, so of course I slipped on these priceless Hampton bracelets and gave them a whirl.  David designed them specifically to have structure, but to be flexible and bend fluidly, almost like a crustacean of some sort.  The cable element also connects with his famous bracelets for easy mixing and matching.IMG_8555

Aren’t these cabled pinky rings just the most adorable little nuggets? I was given one as a gift by my parents right after Cora was born, but unfortunately lost it just a couple months ago.  I may have to return to Neiman’s for this rose gold beauty as an absolutely stunning replacement.http://www.rememoryphotography.com/{Photo courtesy Rememory Photography}

And finally, the pièce de résistance, a photo with David Yurman himself.  Although he said he despises selfies, he indulged Tori of The sTORIbook, Candace of Rememory Photography, and myself for this one shot.  I’m so glad he did because now we have proof! 🙂 Thanks again to Neiman Marcus, Harper’s BAZAAR, and David Yurman for a fabulous time.  Let’s all get together more often, ok? 😉

XO,

A
