Cured at Pearl Review - Date Night Outfit perfect for an anniversary!

Happy belated 4th of July y’all! This weekend was the time to celebrate all that makes America great, and I’ve got two specific things I love about the red, white, and blue for you today.  Meat and a summer dress.  Stay with me here.  For my birthday a few weeks ago, I already told you about how we went to a fashion show hosted by the Art Institute.  Prior to the show, however, we decided to do an early dinner at Cured, a six-month old restaurant at the Pearl.  I got to indulge in one of my favorite food groups (meat) and wear a pretty summer dress with just the right amount of poof for eating a TON.  Very patriotic if I do say so myself.

Wine at Cured at Pearl

Orlando and I are not normally the type to indulge in wine at every meal, but with so many celebrations in such a short time, I have to say we were starting to make it a habit.  Can’t say I’m mad about it though, this Riesling was delicious, crisp, and fruity. Just how I like my wine.

Cured at Pearl Review

As the daughter of a beef farmer, I have to tell you Cured made my mouth water at every turn of the meal.  This was some type of pork shank I believe, but it was honestly too delcious for me to even remember the exact name.  The potatoes as well, I don’t know what type of flavoring or marinating went into making these puppies, but I couldn’t stop eating them.  I was literally fishing around on the plate searching for more by the end.  Good thing I wasn’t on a first date…you can unashamedly hunt for carbs in front of your husband, no problem.

Anniversary Date Night Dress

Speaking of my husband, he was my impromptu photographer for the evening, and I have to say he did a pretty good job! So glad he humored me for a few shots.  My dress is from H&M and the shoes are from Zulily!

I wanted to show off the pretty back of the dress, so I went with a simple ponytail for the evening.  Which also comes in handy in the insane Texas heat.  Wearing my hair down from about April-October around here is pretty much a no-go unless I want to sweat more than I do on the average treadmill outing.

H&M Dress perfect for a night out

Did you know the building that houses Cured (pictured) used to be the old administration building for the Pearl Brewery?  The inside is just as fabulous as the outside, and I highly recommend having a date night there as soon as possible.

Mixed Metals Accesories - how to wear silver and gold together.

The details for this outfit were surprisingly easy to put together.  My purse is from Guess, and the midi rings were a set from H&M as well.  Most of my every day jewelry is silver, so I had fun this evening mixing silver and gold together for an eclectic look.  Perfect for a fancy dinner and fashion show, no?

Simple neutral heels with a hint of gold

I adore that these shoes 1) go with everything and 2) add just a burst of sparkly with the gold tips and chain link ankle strap.  Pretty much sums up my style, really.  Prim and proper with just a streak of wild.
