You know what’s amazing about NYC? You take a turn around any corner, and suddenly you’re in an entirely different world.  You jump on the Subway and come out of the tunnel into a whole new neighborhood with a completely separate identity.  It’s like 300 mini metropolises all crammed together.  On the second day of our trip to New York it was every so slightly warmer so I was able to take a stroll with my family through Central Park in just a sweater.

I paired the sweater and distressed jeans with booties and this pearl-embellished beanie from KRZA.  Similar to her headbands the girls and I wore a few months ago, it is handmade with love and with just the right touch of girly pink.  I always love to balance out an outfit with both feminine and edgy details, just to keep things interesting.

I also picked up these distressed jeans at the H&M opening for North Star mall, and I’ve been wearing them a ton since then.  Shockingly they are actually almost too long, which absolutely never happens when you’re 6 feet tall.  I just give them a couple rolls and it’s no big deal.  Is this what short people have to deal with all the time? 😉

Pink, black and gold just make a great color combination, right? It was also perfect for New York where I’m told they wear all black everything.  It’s always so inspiring strolling the streets and seeing the variety of styles in the city.  Sure, there’s plenty of average Joes out there, but sprinkled within are these people that you can imagine have very fabulous closets, and probably lives at that.  People watching in NYC is better than anywhere else, in my opinion.
