Right after I delivered Issa, I finally got around to reading The Body Book by Cameron Diaz.  In it, I discovered a whole host of knowledge regarding how my body works, what it craves, and how to love it for what it is.  It’s a spellbinding book, and one of the biggest tips I took away from it was Cameron Diaz’ own habit of drinking a full glass of water every time she wakes up in the morning.  Hydration, she says, is one of the biggest keys to feeling good and feeding your body what it needs to be healthy and look terrific.

beauty from within

Now, I certainly try my best to follow this little tip of Cameron’s, but I wake up to a crying baby or a wide awake preschooler more often than I care to admit.  And then I’m typically hankering for a cup of coffee instead of a cold glass of water.  Oftentimes by the time I get around to it the day is half over and I lose the “greet the day with a smile” effect that Miss Diaz claims she feels with her morning ritual.  So when Neocell offered to send me their newest line of Matrix products, with the promise that they would hydrate my skin from within, I was 100% on board.  Hydrate? Check. Easy? Check.  Double extra bonus of anti-aging thrown in? You betcha.

I started out with the Glow Matrix hydrating supplements in the morning, taking three pills with breakfast as a quick addition to my normal vitamins.  This product promises to use pink bark and ceramindes to improve elasticity and reduce the signs of aging in just 15 days.  And it’s not a sticky cream, or a serum you have to remember every day.  It’s just three little pills and your body is working its way to better skin.  I noticed my skin was firmer, softer to the touch, and I didn’t need to apply lotion at all, despite being in the drying sun most days.

My second addition was the Derma Matrix complex, which focuses on the anti-aging properties in a powder to mix with your favorite juice or water.  It promotes the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles with collagen and supports cell turnover.  I have to say in combination with the Glow Matrix I felt they were a powerful duo that complimented each other nicely.  My only complaint with the Derma Matrix was it didn’t always dissolve instantly in the glass.  A quick swirl would typically resolve the problem, but it did catch me off guard at first.

Overall these two products are of the high quality and maximum efficacy I’ve come to expect from Neocell.  It was a painless way to give my skin what it needs without much thought or effort on my part.  And while I’d love to get that tall glass of water in every morning like Cameron Diaz, I’m glad there are other options available for those of us who aren’t childless movie stars with a personal assistant to remind them. Sorry if that seems harsh, Cameron, let’s just blame it on the sleep deprivation. 😉
