I read an article via Pinterest once that was 55 gentle ways to take care of yourself.  The title really stuck out to me, simply because of the word gentle.  Being a former student athlete, Type A, and the oldest child, I am not gentle with myself very often.  My inner voice is much closer to a Army sergeant raging in my ear to work better, mother better, live better.  It takes an act of nature (sometimes literally) for me to slow down and breathe, just appreciating where I am in time, right then and there.

Melissa Picoli of BijaBody seems to be an expert on being gentle with yourself.  She’s created a line of beauty and health products that are actually good for your whole mind, body, and spirit, rather than just focusing on wiping away wrinkles or zapping everything that jiggles.  Amidst a host of goodies to try, the one I was the most excited about was the Herbal Beauty Tea.  Drinking tea, by the way, was number four on the list mentioned above.  Thus, I had a feeling it would transport me to a place of warmth and healing from the get go.  Friends, I was right.

{Lots of fun things to try, but more on the rest later!}

The top right package in the photo above was the tea sample.  It was a loose assortment of herbs and spices, the ingredient list for which can be found here.  My sample also arrived with miniature tea bags, so all it took was a swift pour into the bag and off to the cup of steaming water my magic concoction went.  I like that the tea bags aren’t already portioned out because you can actually control how much of a dose you want that day.  Crazy night last night? Dump the whole bag in there honey, you deserve it.

{How cool does the tea blend look?  Also, I need cuter coffee mugs ASAP.}

There is something so relaxing about holding a warm beverage and going about your daily life.  It somehow makes time slow down, and ironically this tea does that for your skin at the same time.  Melissa offers several tea blends that promise a variety of benefits, but this specific one claims to speed metabolism and reduce internal inflammation.  I love that all of BijaBody’s products are multi-purpose, and they truly seem to be backed by legitimate research, not just a pretty scent.

{Just letting the goodness steep for a bit}

I know what you’re thinking.  Sure, it’s healthy and good for your skin, but does it taste like watered down leather?  Nope, far from it actually.  I kept drinking the tea even after it was cold because I liked the taste so much.  It recommends having a tea as part of your daily ritual and I don’t think I would tire of this beautiful concoction of flavors any time soon.

I’ve got plenty more to rave about with BijaBody, but we’re going to split these posts up and give YOU more opportunities to WIN!  For right now, you can enter to win a  tin of Herbal Beauty Tea of your very own!  Because it’s loose leaf tea, you can steep, save, and re-steep the same tea blend several times.  Which means just one tin can make around 52 cups of tea!  Melissa wants to offer a tin for THREE lucky readers, so you’re odds of winning are pretty good with this one!
