Before we get started, I want to fill you guys in on an exciting event taking place in San Antonio this week. I can’t tell you how many times I have folks tell me they have this big dream they think they’re ready to chase, but they feel like they need an image makeover to summon the guts to go for it. On the flip side, I also can’t tell you how many times I’ve had someone apply for an internship, ask for career advice, etc. but it’s clear this person is struggling to present themselves professionally.
FGI’s San Antonio chapter, which you all know I’m on the board of, has put together an event coming up this Wednesday, March 8th, to solve BOTH of these issues for folks in the fashion industry and otherwise! We’ve brought together the top minds in professional branding to help you look and feel your best with a hair/makeup consult, and then renowned photographer Michael Giordano is going to take advantage of such a prime opportunity to snap your head shot! All this for a fraction of what it would normally cost, and proceeds from the event will benefit our local fashion community. Ok now on to today’s post! As it goes with most married couples, Orlando and I talk about most everything in our lives. You can bet that if you’ve told either of us a secret, you’re really telling both of us. Don’t worry, we are both very good at keeping them. 😉 But that also means I tell him about most of my plans for Haute in Texas, sometimes before they’re even a concrete idea in my head. Most recently I was telling him the concept for this episode of Ask A, and he asked if he could join in. It’s not often we can both sneak away and do something like this together, so I hope it’s as much fun for you to watch as it was for us to make. We had to do a few takes, with Issa interrupting and loud noises from our neighbors, but nonetheless we thought it would be interesting to discuss what we’re both reading, watching, and listening to right now.
