Here’s a shocker for you: I love to shop.  It doesn’t matter if I’m in HEB or Saks 5th Avenue, I love walking up and down the aisles, or sifting through the racks to find something magical.  So I think the fashion gods were smiling down on me when I was blessed with two little girls.  I’m not saying it’s guaranteed that they’ll inherit my love for retail therapy, but at least now while they’re little I can have fun dressing them up and taking them along for the style hunt.

Yesterday we took a trip to Bambinos, a legendary children’s store here in San Antonio, that just opened a brand new location.  We stepped inside the gorgeous Lincoln Heights boutique and Cora immediately met Karen, the owner.  Then Karen moved her way rapidly up Cora’s list of best friends when she offered her a cookie.  Of which Cora sampled several.  I offer you Exhibit A as proof:

Cora then proceeded to find about 8,482 dresses that she simply HAD to have.  She is my daughter, after all.  We were on the look out for something that would have a coordinating outfit for baby sister, and Bambinos did not disappoint.  We found organic onesies, smocked dresses, and even formal wear that would be perfect for a wedding or baptism.  Naturally, we settled on a pink ensemble and discovered Bambinos has a changing room so there’s never a worry that you’ll make it home only to find your little one went through a growth spurt.  Cora slipped on her choice and immediately gasped, “Wow, I look great.”  Only a toddler can be so self-confident and yet so cute.

Next it was baby sister’s turn.  Bambinos has clothing of all sizes for boys and girls, and they also design nurseries with furniture, fabric selections, and lighting choices.  They have a registry option and a brand new online shopping experience coming soon!  Issa isn’t too picky on her personal style yet, but she loved hanging out in the full sized crib they have in store to display decor options.  You know it’s a kid-friendly store when your infant can take a nap while your toddler tries on outfits. 😉

Cora has just started getting into dressing up, and she can spend hours running around the house in her Rapunzel dress, Cinderella heels, and Sleeping Beauty crown.  So I think it caught her a little off guard (READ: have a major meltdown) when we had to change out of our fancy duds at Bambinos and back into our play clothes.  She was having so much fun, and the ladies in the store let her play with toys in the back and of course have just one more cookie.  I know she’ll be asking to go back again soon, and I have to say I can’t wait.  The clothing is beautiful, but the experience of shopping with my girls is even better.  I don’t know if I’ll still feel the same way when they’re 15, but I hope so.  It’s these precious mother-daughter moments that make me so happy to have two little ladies in my life.  A big thanks to Bambinos for making our afternoon of dress up so special! Be sure to head over to their GRAND OPENING event tomorrow, May 2nd for fun prizes and refreshments from Utopia Play Cafe!
