40 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 199 according to my home scale.  Ok baby, you can come out now so mama can start doing some sit-ups! 🙂

Maternity clothes? Obvs.

Stretch marks? Yes, surprisingly more on the belly area than the booty like it was with Cora. Weird, right?

Sleep? Here and there.  I switched to our silk sheets after Cora spilled some milk on the bed and man it has been nice to just slip and slide around since rolling over feels like a monumental task these days.  It’s the little things. 🙂

Best moment this week: I installed the car seat, got the bottles and breast pump out of storage, and wrapped Cora’s sibling present.  Yay for productivity, now I need a nap.

Movement? Just extra low ones, but occasionally she’ll surprise me.

Food cravings? Not too many this week, maybe just sweets. 🙂

Gender?  GIRL! :)

Labor Signs? Not really, much to the disappoint of friends and family who have begun the daily check-ins. 🙂

Belly Button in or out? Outie.

Wedding rings on or off? On, just getting a wee bit uncomfortable in the mornings.

What I miss? Not feeling like an elephant.  And my skinny jeans.  I really miss my skinny jeans.

What I am looking forward to? MY MAMA GETS HERE TOMORROW! I don’t care if I go into labor the next day or in two weeks, because my mom will be here to tell me everything’s going to be ok either way.  Isn’t it amazing no matter how old we get our mothers can still have that all-is-right-in-the-world effect on us?

Weekly Wisdom? We decided to hire a doula just this week because of the uncertainty with Orlando’s schedule, our home birth plans, and the length of my labor with Cora.  It has been such a huge weight off my shoulders to know that Tina will be there for me when I need her, and hopefully her presence will help shave some hours off my natural delivery.  Because even if it’s half as long as Cora’s we’re still looking at a good 12 hours.  Hence, a doula with a sweet temperament like Tina’s will be welcome to rub my back and tell me I’m going to survive this. 🙂

Milestones? Made it to 40 weeks pregnant! Holy Toledo, can you believe we’ve been doing these bump updates for 20 weeks now? Are you sick of them yet? If you are, not to worry, just a little bit longer!
XO,
A
