39 weeks pregnant what to wear

39 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 198.  Thank God for my at-home scale, it makes me feel WAY better than the evil one at my midwife’s office.

Maternity clothes? Yes. Duh.

Stretch marks? They seem to have tapered off.  With only a few weeks to go max, how many more could pop up before then? I probably don’t want to know the answer.

Sleep? It’s been a bit rough this week.  If I’m not awake with Cora, I’m tossing and turning just uncomfortable.  Then my mind starts churning with everything I need to get done before baby arrives and I’m up for the next hour.  Not fun.

Best moment this week: Got to chat newborn plans with my midwife at our appointment, and it was such a lovely reminder that there will be a squishy little one to be had at the end of all this.  Thank goodness, otherwise why would women keep doing this to ourselves?

Movement? Baby girl is WAY. down. low. So I’m just getting the occasional shot to the crotch.  Sorry for the TMI, but nobody said late-term pregnancy was pretty.

Food cravings? Crushed ice, crushed ice, and more crushed ice.  Which meant I was fully hydrated at my last midwife appointment and that NEVER happens.

Gender?  GIRL! :)

Labor Signs? No, just the occasional sharp sensation down there, but not of the contraction variety.

Belly Button in or out? Outie.

Wedding rings on or off? On, just keeping an eye on any swelling.  Although if I notice it’s too swollen at some point it will probably be too late to get the rings off.  Livin’ life on the edge.

What I miss? Having a variety of clothing options.  My closet is slowly withering away to nothing, so I will be so glad when I can get back into non-maternity clothes!  Enter the Spring Preview that I attended this week for Neiman Marcus which was chock full of fashionable ideas to get my postpartum mind in gear.  I might actually be motivated to lose the baby weight if it means getting to rock these fun, boho, bright pieces! Don’t you just love it?

What I am looking forward to? BABY’S ARRIVAL.

Weekly Wisdom? I already posted my gender rant this week, so I don’t know that I care to add any other bits of advice or thoughts on life.  The response was mostly positive, and once again I was surprised by how many different scenarios cause women to be the subject of rude or unknowingly uncomfortable comments!

Milestones? I put together a birth playlist this week, which I’ve been listening to on repeat to get my mind right.  Although I need advice for getting the ads off of YouTube videos, OR if that’s impossible, I need to suck it up and pay for each song on iTunes.  Because no one wants to be in the middle of a contraction and hear an ad for toilet paper.  Nooooo thanks. 🙂
XO,
A
