31 Weeks Bump Update

31 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Since I’m at my parent’s house, I’m not going to weigh myself this week.  First, because their scale might differ from mine.  Second, because I’m scared to see what holiday eating has done for my waistline, or lack thereof.

Maternity clothes? Fo sho.

Stretch marks? None besides the leftovers on the rear end.

Sleep? Besides adjusting to sleeping at mom and dad’s where there’s zero blinds, and the skylights above our bed shine an almost constant source of light even through the night, I’ve been sleeping pretty well, considering the large belly in the way.

Best moment this week: Christmas and seeing tons of family that hadn’t had a chance to rub the belly yet, of course!

Movement? TONS. Especially with plenty of sugary drinks and treats headed her way these past few days.

Food cravings? Mom is always really good about fixing a craveable meal for every. single. meal. while we’re all home for Christmas, so I haven’t even really had a chance to crave something!

Gender?  GIRL! :)

Labor Signs? Nada.

Belly Button in or out? I’m just gonna say it’s out at this point.  Occasionally you can see it through a shirt, but it really doesn’t bug me at all.

Wedding rings on or off? On.  Even with flying this week I had little to no swelling in my hands and feet.  Hopefully it stays the same on the way back to Tejas.

What I miss? Christmas without Orlando was super hard.  We thought he would be able to have a few days off from the season to head up to Indiana and meet us, but it just didn’t turn out that way.  It’s always tough to answer questions about where he is from well-meaning family members, and of course I wanted Cora to have her Daddy there as she opened presents and shared in the joy of Christmas morning with my side of the family.  We are blessed though that we had plenty of people surrounding us and sending us love to make the separation a little easier.

What I am looking forward to?  I got a Fitbit for Christmas, so I’m making it my mission to start walking more, and keeping a better eye on my calorie intake as we head for the home stretch of this pregnancy.  I always think about the fact that labor is going to be one of the craziest endurance tests I’ll ever tackle, so it only makes sense to try and stay in shape for that challenge.

Weekly Wisdom? Bump etiquette always comes into question during the holidays when you’re seeing family you don’t normally run into.  For me, I don’t mind people touching the belly at all, as long as they give me a heads up before they do.  The only time I get weirded out is when people linger too long, like continuing the conversation about things other than pregnancy and their hand is still rubbing my preggoness.  Is that just me?

Milestones? My first Christmas with a little one and a preggo belly was quite the adventure.  I also tried to soak up Cora’s last Christmas as an only child.  Next year I can only imagine we’ll be hearing, “Heyyyyyy, why did sister get that and I didn’t??” or “Heyyyyyy, sister’s playing with my toyyyyyyyys.”  Sounds like craziness, but a good craziness.
XO,
